How it works

The math, in the open

No hidden assumptions — just your numbers and one lift you choose.

Extra revenue per month = average check × check lift × guests per day × days open per month. The yearly figure is the monthly figure × 12.

Payback = menu project cost ÷ extra revenue per day. Break-even lift is the check increase that would just cover the project cost in a year.

Example: $35 × 5% = $1.75 extra per guest
$1.75 × 80 guests × 28 days = $3,920 per month
$3,920 × 12 = $47,040 per year

The lift is an assumption you control. Photo menus usually help most on signature dishes, add-ons and desserts — the items guests skip when they can’t picture them.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How is the extra revenue calculated?

Extra revenue per month = average check × check lift % × guests per day × days open per month. The yearly figure is the monthly result × 12. Payback = menu project cost ÷ extra revenue per day.

What check lift should I use?

Start low. DoorDash reports that reaching at least 50% menu photo coverage can increase delivery sales by about 13% on average. In a dining room the effect depends on your menu, cuisine and guests, so test 5% and 10% as conservative scenarios.

Is this a guarantee?

No. It is an estimate for planning. Real results depend on which dishes are photographed, how the menu is laid out and who your guests are.

Does the calculator work for delivery menus and QR menus too?

Yes. Use the average order value and the number of orders per day from your delivery app or QR menu instead of the dining-room numbers.
